The Coffey Park neighborhood of Santa Rosa lost 1,300 homes in the Tubbs Firestorm which left many with just minutes to evacuate. Residents are doing their best to keep upbeat and maintain their sense of humor during the Christmas season. One family hung Christmas stockings on the fireplace of the remaining wall of their burned down home. The Tubbs Firestorm in Sonoma County was the most destructive fire in California history with 5,643 homes destroyed. Weather contributed greatly to the outbreak of fires throughout the state. A wet winter after years of drought allowed undergrowth to flourish then a hot dry summer set up the conditions for these fires.
